In order to make more money, he applied for a printing job and in the beginning, he drew women and actors. After 1830, he used colour while drawing landscape paintings.
His use of colour encouraged other Japanese artists at the time to incorporate paints in their prints. Hiroshige's art also reached Europe where it inspired many artists, including Vincent Van Gogh, Edgar Degas, and Monet. |
